WASP-135b was discovered by the SuperWASP planetary transit survey.

It orbits the star WASP-135, a 13th magnitude Sun-like G5 variable star,

located approximately 980 light-years away in the constellation of

Hercules.

Its was discovered in 2015, via the transit method, following which its

mass was confirmed via the radial velocity method.

The planet is a "hot Jupiter", about 1.3 times the radius of Jupiter and ap-

proximately 1.9 times as massive. Its inflated radius may be due to the in-

tense heating from its parent star, which causes the outer layers of its

atmosphere to bloat.

WASP-135b orbits its star approximately once every 1.4 days.
