TRY AGAIN 2044

Type: Periodic Perihelion date: 17 June 2015 Perihelion distance (q): 3.4 Aphelion distance (Q) : 16.2 Period (years): 30.7 Eccentricity (e): 0.65 Inclination (i): 12.7 JPL orbit diagram COBS lightcurve A 19th magnitude comet was discovered in PanSTARRS 1 images taken with the 1.8m Ritchey-Chretien on 26 November 2014. Tim Spahr identified pre-discovery observations in images taken by Mt Lemmon, ISON and Catalina. An encounter with Saturn will increase the perihelion distance to 3.7 au and slightly reduce the period at the next return.
