TRY AGAIN 2027

Type: Periodic Perihelion date: 27 October 2021 Perihelion distance (q): 2.5 Aphelion distance (Q) : 4.5 Period (years): 6.6 Eccentricity (e): 0.28 Inclination (i): 2.8 JPL orbit diagram COBS lightcurve 419P/PanSTARRS = 2015 F1 = 2021 A11 A 19th magnitude comet was discovered in PanSTARRS 1 images taken with the 1.8m Ritchey-Chretien on 21 March 2015. Erwin Schwab recovered comet 2015 F1 as an apparently stellar object in images taken with the 0.8-m f/3 Schmidt reflector at Calar Alto, Spain, on 13 January 2021. Additional observations were made on 10, 13 and 14 February. The comet was some 4' from the predicted position, implying a delta T of -0.2 days. The comet passed 0.46 au from Jupiter in December 1975 in an encounter that substantially reduced the perihelion distance.
