Type: Periodic Perihelion date: 17 October 2021 Perihelion distance (q): 1.7 Aphelion distance (Q) : 8.5 Period (years): 11.5 Eccentricity (e): 0.66 Inclination (i): 5.8 JPL orbit diagram COBS lightcurve 418P/LINEAR = 2010 A5 = 2020 Y5 An apparently asteroidal object of 20th magnitude discovered by LINEAR with the 1.0-m reflector on 14 January 2010 was found to show a cometary appearance by other astrometrists. An object recorded at 22nd magnitude in astrometry taken by PanSTARRS 2 on 23 December 2020 was subsequently identified as as a return of 2010 A5 by the MPC. It was also detected by PanSTARRS 1 and Mt Lemmon in January 2021.
