Type: Periodic Perihelion date: 3 December 2017 Perihelion distance (q): 3.9 Aphelion distance (Q) : 5.2 Period (years): 9.7 Eccentricity (e): 0.14 Inclination (i): 18.8 JPL orbit diagram COBS lightcurve The 19th mag, apparently asteroidal object 1999 DN_3, observed by K. Korlevic and M. Juric at Visnjan (0.41-m f/4.3 reflector + CCD) on 18 and 24 February 1999 was linked by G. V. Williams, Minor Planet Center, to observations on 6 and April in routine asteroidal astrometry from LINEAR. Owing to the unusual nature of the orbit, computed on 13 May, the object was added to The NEO Confirmation Page. In response to this, further observations were reported. C. W. Hergenrother, Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, reported that observations made on 14 May with the 1.5-m Catalina reflector show the object to be cometary, with a compact, well condensed 10" coma and a strongly curved 30" tail. Eric Christensen recovered 1999 DN3 (P/Korlevic-Juric) with the Mt Lemon 1.5-m on 16 December 2007. The comet was 20th magnitude.
