TRY AGAIN 2030

Type: Periodic Perihelion date: 20 April 2023 Perihelion distance (q): 2.9 Aphelion distance (Q) : 5.5 Period (years): 8.6 Eccentricity (e): 0.30 Inclination (i): 10.1 JPL orbit diagram COBS lightcurve Eric Christensen discovered a 20th magnitude comet (2005 M1) in the course of the Mt Lemon survey on 17 June. Further observations show that it is a periodic comet with period of 8.6 years and will reach perihelion at 2.93 AU in late January 2006. It has been identified in observations made by NEAT in 1997, so the orbit is now secure and the comet has received a numeric designation.
