This object, originally designated as an asteroid (2004 NL21) on the basis of LINEAR
observations, was found to show cometary characteristics by Rob McNaught with
observations from the 0.5-m Uppsala Schmidt at Siding Spring. It was found on 15
July by LINEAR. Following discovery it was linked to an object seen in 1996 NEAT
images.
