NGC 2174 (North Up, East Left)
NGC 2174, also known as the "Monkey Head Nebula" is an emission nebula located in the constellation Orion. It is associated with the open star cluster NGC 2175 and lies at a distance ~6,400 light-years from Earth. This image comprises 5 x Ha, OIII and SII (300 seconds each), 0.5m f/2.9 ASA Astrograph with FLI ML3200 camera at an altitude of 80 degrees on 26 December 2017. The fields of view of both images are 34' by 23'. The first follows the CFHT convention (Ha-OIII- SII mapped to RGB) and the second the HST convention (SII-Ha-OIII mapped to RGB).
