Messier 88 (North Up, East Left)
Messier 88, also known as NGC 4501, is a galaxy with classification Sb in the constellation of Coma Berenices. It has a diameter of ~70,000 light-years and is a member of the Virgo Galaxy Cluster. Several other galaxies are in the same field, as identified in the final, annotated image. The images comprise 5 x Luminance (300 seconds each), 0.101m f/5.4 Tele Vue refractor with FLI ML16200 camera at an altitude of 75 degrees on 19 January 2018. The fields of view of the first and third images are 132’ x 132’ (2.2 degrees square) and of the second image 42' x 42'.
