Messier 87 (North Up, East Left)
Messier 87, also known as NGC 4486, is a galaxy with classification E1 pec in the constellation of Virgo. It has a diameter of ~90,000 light-years and is a member of the Virgo Galaxy Cluster. A faint jet protrudes from the west-northwestern side of the galaxy's nucleus. Several other galaxies are in the same field, as identified in the final, annotated image. The images comprise 5 x Luminance (300 seconds each), 0.101m f/5.4 Tele Vue refractor with FLI ML16200 camera at an altitude of 70 degrees on 19 January 2018. The fields of view of the first and third images are 132’ x 132’ (2.2 degrees square) and of the second image 42' x 42'.
