Herschel 391 (North Up, East Left)
Herschel 391, also known as NGC 2423, is an open cluster in the constellation of Puppis.  It contains ~40 stars and lies at a distance of ~2,800 light-years.  It is ~350 million years old. This image comprises 10 x Luminance (12 seconds each) and 5 x Red, Green and Blue (15, 15 and 12 seconds each), 0.5m f/2.9 ASA Astrograph with FLI ML3200 camera at an altitude of 40 degrees on 12 December 2015. The field of view of the image is 32’ x 21’.
