Herschel 340 (North Up, East Left)
Herschel 340, also known as NGC 2354, is an open cluster in the constellation of Canis Major. It contains ~100 stars and lies at a distance of ~5,800 light-years. It is ~180 million years old. This image comprises 8 x Luminance (25 seconds each) and 4 x Red, Green and Blue (25, 25 and 20 seconds each), 0.5m f/2.9 ASA Astrograph with FLI ML3200 camera at an altitude of 30 degrees on 20 November 2015. The field of view of the image is 34’ x 21’.
