Herschel 324 (North Up, East Left)
Herschel 324, also known as NGC 1857, is an open cluster in the constellation of Auriga.  It contains ~40 stars and lies at a distance of ~6,200 light-years.  The brghtest star at the centre of the cluster is magnitude 7.4 HIP24890. This image comprises 10 x Luminance (16 seconds each) and 7 x Red, Green and Blue (20, 20 and 16 seconds each), 0.5m f/2.9 ASA Astrograph with FLI ML3200 camera at an altitude of 80 degrees over two nights, 24 and 28 October 2017. The field of view is 32’ x 21’.
