Herschel 224 (North Up, East Left)
Herschel 224, also known as NGC 2539, is an open cluster containing ~50 stars in the constellation of Puppis.  Its lies at  distance of ~4,200 light-years and is ~660 million years old. The star to the south-east of the cluster is magnitude 4.7 SAO 153942. This image comprises 15 x Luminance (15 seconds each) and 8 x Red, Green and Blue (15, 16 and 13 seconds each), 0.5m f/2.9 ASA Astrograph with FLI ML3200 camera at an altitude of 40 degrees on 29 January 2017. The field of view ois 34’ x 23’ .
