Herschel 223 (North Up, East Left)
Herschel 223, also known as NGC 2527, is an open cluster containing ~40 stars in the constellation of Puppis.  It lies at a distance of ~2,000 light-years and is ~1 billion years old. This image comprises 10 x Luminance (15 seconds each) and 5 x Red, Green and Blue (20, 22 and 18 seconds each), 0.5m f/2.9 ASA Astrograph with FLI ML3200 camera at an altitude of 30 degrees on 12 March 2018. The field of view is 34’ x 23’.
