Herschel 125 and Arp 286 (North Up, East Left)
Herschel 125, also known as NGC 5566, is a galaxy of classification SB(r)ab in the constellation of Virgo.  Its diameter is ~83,000 light-years.  It is part of a cluster of three galaxies know as Arp 286.  The other two galaxies are NGC 5560 (type SB(s)b pec, with a diameter of ~128,000 light-years) to the north-west and NGC 5569 (type SAB(rs)cd) to the north-east. This image comprises 10 x Luminance (120 seconds each) and 5 x Red, Green and Blue (120, 121 and 98 seconds each), 0.5m f/2.9 ASA Astrograph with FLI ML3200 camera at an altitude of 60 degrees on 8 March 2017. The fields of view of the images at the top and bottom are 32’ x 21’ and 18’ x 12’ respectively.
