Herschel 26 and Caldwell 2 (North Up, East Left)
Herschel 26, also known as NGC 40, Caldwell 2 and the "Bow Tie Nebula", is a planetary nebula in the constellation of Cepheus. It lies at a distance of ~3,500 light lears and is ~4000 years old. This image comprises 15 x Luminance (30 seconds each) and 8 x Red, Green and Blue (30, 30 and 24 seconds each), 0.5m f/2.9 ASA Astrograph with FLI ML3200 camera at an altitude of 45 degrees on 22 September 2015. The field of view is 33’ x 22’.
