Herschel 9 (North Up, East Left)
Herschel 9, also known as NGC 7727 and Arp 222, is a galaxy of classification SAB(s)a pec in the constellation of Aquarius.  It has a diameter of ~151,000 light-years.  The galaxy to the west-northwest of Herschel 9 is NGC 7724. This image comprises 10 x Luminance (200 seconds each) and 6 x Red, Green and Blue (200, 200 and 200 seconds each), 0.5m f/2.9 ASA Astrograph with FLI ML3200 camera at an altitude of 45 degrees over two nights, 4 and 5 October 2018. The fields of view of the images are 32’ x 21’ and 18' x 12', respectively.
