Dark area in Scorpius (North Up, East Left)
This image is centred on right ascension 16h 42m and decination -24° 02' in Scorpius. It shows a striking dark cloud of dust and gas between Earth and the more distant stars. The image comprises 6 x Luminance (300 seconds each), 0.101m f/5.4 Tele Vue refractor with FLI ML16200 camera at an altitude of 35 egrees on 19 March 2018. The field of view is 132’ x 132’ (2.2 degrees square).
