A 17th magnitude comet was discovered in images taken with the 0.5m Schmidt at Mauna Loa on 16 May 2009 by the ATLAS (Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System) team, but apparently reported to the MPC without any details. It had been posted on the PCCP as A10dGSV. The preliminary orbit is strongly hyperbolic, so it may be a candidate interstellar object. It passed 1.1 au from Jupiter in February 2019, but this does not appear to have changed the eccecntricity significantly.
